Karvansarai

Ancient Forest Guardians

At Karvansarai, we strive to minimise our carbon footprint. When we are limited in achieving this due to the absence of suitable alternatives e.g. air travel, we seek to counterbalance our emissions with organisations such as Ancient Forest Guardians.

AFG endeavour to protect underfunded primary growth forests of significant natural heritage. Current projects include the 10,000 hectare Alarachi Cloud Forest in Bolivia in partnership with Prometa and 62,000 hectares of the Dzanga Sangha Special Reserve moist forest in the Central African Republic in partnership with Sangha Lodge.

All travels booked with Karvansarai are offset with AFG. Ancient Forest Guardians is supported by Inspiration Incubator, a UK-registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Charity registration number 1195241.

Karvansarai

We encourage all of our travellers to explore and discover – build their own relationships, plant their own roots and create their own unforgettable memories with a little bit of inspiration and guidance from us.

What is the meaning of
Karvansarai?

Kārvānsarāi
(Persian for Caravanserai)
back in the day was a roadside inn located along the trade routes, a meeting point of different cultures and people, where travellers shared stories of their adventures from faraway places and exchanged information about roads travelled and roads ahead. Welcome to our virtual Karvansarai, journey into the fabric of the places we love and discover what lies within you.
